CONCLUSION

As the conclusion, I have chosen these three topics to be written in my blog. The first one is about online induction system. Nowadays, everything in human resources practices become more easily when company decided to use e-induction system. The good thing is company generally can reduce time and cost that need to be spent in conducting any induction program to the new employees. But, it still has their limitation and disadvantages by using e-online induction system.

The second one is about Web-based Training program. By using this system, company just can conduct training program in the website only. Thus, it will help company organizing the program more easily without spending a lot of budget in order to improve employee’s skills and knowledge.

Third is about Compensation and Benefit System. Compensation and benefit system is very important attracting factor to retain and maintain the competence worker to work with the company for a long time period. Moreover, it is one of the ways on how company show their gratitude towards their employees.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFIT SYSTEM

Is it necessary for a company to have compensation and benefits plan? The answer is YES! Why? Nowadays, employees look for compensation that goes beyond cash when considering whether a job offers them security, stability and a bright future. Hence a well-considered benefits and compensation can also retain quality employees in the organization.

Compensation is an earned income for work performed such as wages, salaries, tips, bonuses, and commissions. Benefits are cash and non-cash rewards in addition to compensation. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, wellness program, pension, and others.

Actually, the strategy plan for compensation and benefits play a large role in attracting and maintaining competent employees. Employees with more experience and competencies will attract to work with company if they provided with this system. Moreover, when competence employees work in our organization, it leads to increase the tendency for the organization to get higher productivity.

Besides that, one of the strategy plans an organization can do is by including reward for the employees based on workplace performance. Commission-based system rewards employees for total amount of sales or for consistent positive feedback from the customers is one of the assessments of their performance. This benefits system should be easy for employees to understand and attainable to encourage the employees to work hard to achieve the goals.

Other than that, compensation and benefits system is useful in retaining the quality employees. Company can use compensation based on seniority in order to shows to the new employees that the organization values employees who choose to remain and stay with the company for long-term period. Thus, intrinsically it will encourage new employees to have high commitment level towards the company.

WEB-BASED TRAINING (WBT)

According to Torres (2005), Web-Based Training (WBT) is an innovative approach to distance learning in which computer-based training (CBT). Here, CBT will transformed by the technologies and methodologies of the World Wide Web (WWW), the Internet, and intranets. WBT presents live content, as fresh as the moment and modified at will. It also a media-rich training fully capable of evaluation, adaptation, and remediation which is all is independent of computer platform.

WBT can be delivered training to individuals anywhere in the world at any time. Web browsers that support 3-D virtual reality, animation, interactions, chat and conferencing, and real-time audio and video will offer unparalleled training opportunities. Web-based performance support system (WBPSS) further help today’s busy workers perform their jobs by integrating WBT, information systems, and job aids into unified systems available on demand.

WBT are not only having the advantages but disadvantages also. The advantages of WBT are can easily be embedded to enhance the learning, can be a good alternative to printed learning materials, and also can be easily distributed to a wide audience at a relatively low cost once the initial development is completed.

Then, the disadvantages of WBT are it requires enormous resources and the software for developing WBT is often more complex than a subject matter expert is able to use. Besides, the lack of human interaction can limit both the type of content that can be presented as well as the type of assessment that can be performed.

ONLINE INDUCTION SYSTEM

How a company or organization can reduce their induction program cost? It is very easy and simple! The company can just using an online induction system. So, what it is actually online induction system? According to Durai (2010), an online induction system is a system that has been usually used in an organization when they employed new workers. The aim of the system is to expose new employee with their new organization’s environment and promotion requirement.

From this topic I learnt that this system can help organization to reduce the cost and time for conducting an induction program for their new employees.  By using this system, they can learn about the background of the organization, their mission, vision, philosophy, policies, rules and regulation.  But, before that management need to provide guidelines and e-induction tips to the newer. So that, the employees can have clearer picture on how to use the e-induction system effectively.

Thus, there are some advantages and disadvantages by using the online induction system.  Example of the advantages are the online induction system can save inductors and managers time, easy to access with induction online software; new employee can access the procedures and documents online, and also its engage new employee with the attractive user-friendly online interface.  While the disadvantages of this system are its technological complications, high cost for small organization, lack of supervision and probability data in this system will lose.

5.0 Conclusion

As a conclusion, I think Human Resource Information System is very important in any organization or company to be practices. By using a systematic system, each work in human resource starting from recruitment process will be going smoothly without any big problems. But it is also need expertise to handle it then teach others how to use it competently. Basically, nowadays each of companies in the world has their own official web page which from the web, they can share any information regarding their business or human practices. Other than, many people also can easily accessing the basic information just to know about the company’s basic background.

Besides that, the most important thing need to be concern when using a ‘system’ is all about security. Is it the system have strong security system or not? Every system that has been created or being used must have strong security system. It is because when world become high in technology and increasing number of intelligent people, there is must be something bad intelligent people will do with the system such as hacking activity. Hackers always like to hack other people website, transfer virus and steal important confidential information from any company’s system. So, that is why it is very important for the company to be aware about this security issues.

But not least, we need to use system accordingly how it will be operate. So that, the whole works in human resource will not disturbed and run smoothly. Actually, a system was created because wanted to help human to do their work more easily compared when using manual. By using system, for example e-recruitment system, it helps company to reduce cost and time for recruitment process. So, it is good actually to have very compatible system in this era of globalization.

4.0 Web Based Human Resource Planning: Recruiting and Staffing

In this topic, I have learned about recruiting and staffing. In recruiting process, organization has to attract, screen and select the most compatible applicant which is really suitable with the current job offered. While staffing process occurs when organizations have selected and train individuals for the specific job functions and exposed them with their responsibilities towards the job. Basically, in these recent years, organizations only use e-recruitment system to advertise their job vacancies. By this kind of recruitment system, applicants from everywhere can apply for the job by submitting their own personal details and resume through organization’s official web-page.

There are several advantages of e-recruitment system used by the organization. The first is application for the job can reach the large target. This is because many applicants with different qualification will apply for the advertised job. So that, organization will have many candidates that need to be screen and select after viewing automatically their qualifications through the system. Then, the most important thing is organization can reduce cost and time for the recruitment process. They just need to publish their available position using company’s website only. Other than that, organization can get information quickly because the system always gives the update information.

Besides that, there are also several disadvantages need to be considered by the organization or company while using e-recruitment system. The first disadvantage is information overload where organization will have too many information about the applicants although most of them are not capable and suitable with the job. Other than that, accessing information in the system are only limited to members of the organization only and not for the outsider. It is because to access for the information they need to use password so that it will enhance the security of confidential information regarding the recruiting process.
